Caboolture SS - Newsletter Term 3 Week 2
Principal's News
Welcome to our brand new newsletter! We know it's been a while, but this has been a work in progress. We hope you enjoy the new layout.
Welcome Back to Term 3 at Caboolture State School!
We’re excited to welcome all our students, staff, and families back for Term 3! We hope everyone had a restful break and is ready for another term of learning, growth, and connection.
At Caboolture SS, we continue to uphold our core expectations:
🌟 We are Kind
🛡️ We are Safe
📚 We are Learners
These values guide everything we do from the classroom to the playground and help us create a positive, safe inclusive school environment where every student can thrive.
Curriculum Reminder
Term 3 is an important time for consolidating learning and preparing for upcoming assessments. Across all year levels, students will be engaging in rich learning experiences aligned with the Australian Curriculum. We encourage families to stay connected with their child’s learning journey by checking in regularly, attending parent-teacher meetings later this term, and supporting home learning routines.
Predictable Routines & Berry Street Strategies
This term, we’re continuing our focus on consistent and predictable routines, which are essential for helping students feel safe and ready to learn. These routines are closely aligned with the Berry Street Education Model, which supports student wellbeing through trauma-informed practices.
By maintaining clear expectations and structured transitions, we help students build emotional regulation, resilience, and a sense of belonging. Teachers will continue to use strategies like morning check-ins, brain breaks, and visual schedules to support engagement and connection.
Uniform Reminder
A friendly reminder to all families: school uniform is an important part of our identity and pride. Students are expected to wear their full school uniform each day, including appropriate enclosed footwear. CROCs are not an appropriate shoe to be worn at school and should be saved for the weekend. Students should also save their oodies for wearing at home. In the cooler months, students should wear a black or green jumper. No hoodies please. If you need support with uniforms, please contact the school office. We’re here to help.
Term 3 Staffing update
This term we welcome Kelli Marsden to the team. She will be teaching 4A until the end of the term.
Let’s make Term 3 a fantastic one, filled with kindness, safety, and learning!
Have a great fortnight

This flow chart has been introduced to all students at our school and is displayed in all classrooms. It has been developed to help our students and teachers follow clear and predictable processes at times when students do not make expected behaviour choices. We would appreciate you discussing this with your child or children as we work in partnership to achieve great outcomes for their education and behaviour choices. If you have any questions about these processes, we encourage you to contact the office to speak with your child’s classroom teacher or a member of the leadership team

All classrooms are also using this Ready to Learn Scale to support our students to identify and communicate their readiness to engage in learning, and what support they might need to be their best in the classroom. As part of our focus on implementing strategies from the Berry Street Education Model, we will continue to teach our students about regulation strategies and how they can take ownership and responsibility for their positive learning behaviour, attitude and effort.

Information for parents of Year 5 students
Planning is well underway for the 2025 Year 5 Camp. Students will be travelling to the Sunshine Coast Recreation Precinct at Currimundi on Monday, November 24th and returning on Wednesday, November 26th. Including transport, accommodation, meals and activities, the cost for this year's Camp has been calculated at $241. We will be issuing invoices and a letter with further information over the next week or so. So that we can confirm the number of students who will be attending, parents will be asked to return the Expression of Interest form that will be attached to the letter. If your child will be attending, a deposit of $55.00 will also need to be paid when returning the form, with the balance of $186.00 due to be finalised by October 20th 2025.
If you require any assistance with giving your child the opportunity to participate, please contact the office to discuss.
Facilities Update
Regular visitors to our school may notice quite a bit of activity taking place over the next couple of months. Projects include:
- demolition of the building that, until the start of this year, was used as the Chaplain's Room. This building is being demolished to make way for a new outdoor learning area.
- painting of the exterior of both Blocks A and C. These are the older buildings that face George Street and we hope a lick of paint will be a great enhancement to our school.
The projects are being funded by the department, following liaison with our Regional Infrastructure Manager and we appreciate the support.
