Tuckshop Day - 7 November 2025
The daily efforts of our tuckshop workers and the many volunteers who support our students and our school have been tremendous this year.
We should remember to say please and thank you every day, but on Tuckshop Day, Friday 7 November, we will say a very special thank you to this wonderful team.
Our tuckshop provides a great service that helps out families who have to juggle many different tasks at the start of each day and some good food helps the students study and play through the day.
We don’t take their hard work for granted and it is great to see parents putting up their hands and getting involved with our school. Thank you everyone.
Deputy Principal's News
Our students and staff participated in Australia's Biggest Child Safety Lesson on Day for Daniel. These lessons, targeted at the various age groups of children in our school, focused on supporting students to Recognise, React and Report unsafe places and spaces in person and online. It was pleasing to see so many of our students in red to participate. Check out 4A in their lesson, 4/5C's discussion, and some examples of 2B identifying body cues and safe people.

With many of our students and families planning to acquire many kilograms of sweet treats for Halloween, we kindly request that these are enjoyed at home and not brought to school on Monday. We've compiled our top 5 reasons why:
1. Teachers can smell chocolate from three classrooms away - don't tempt them!
2. Teachers can't compete with lollies for attention
3. Sticky fingers are not a good mix with school iPads and laptops
4. Lollies don't count as fruit, even if they are strawberry flavoured
5. Halloween might be spooky, but a classroom full of children on a sugar hit - that's truly terrifying!
Thank you all for supporting us with this and keeping the chocolates/lollies at home for your children to enjoy.

Term 4 Maths Learning
This term all students are exploring Number & Algebra and Probability in Years 3 to 6.
Prep: To partition, combine and compare collections.
Year 1: To create patterns and use skip counting to quantify collections.
Year 2: To partition, rename and regroup two- and three-digit numbers; order and represent numbers to at least 1000; describe and continue additive patterns; and recall and demonstrate proficiency with addition and subtraction facts and multiplication facts for twos.
Year 3: To order and represent numbers beyond 10,000 and solve problems involving two- and three-digit numbers. To find unknowns in addition and subtraction number sentences and create algorithms and explore patterns.
To identify outcomes and the likelihood of events and conduct repeated chance experiments.
Year 4: To find unknowns in equations involving addition and subtraction. To follow and create algorithms and identify emerging patterns.
To order events in terms of likelihood, identify independent and dependent events and conduct repeated chance experiments, describing results.
Year 5: To write and order decimals; multiply large numbers by one- and two-digit numbers and divide by single-digit numbers; find unknown values in numerical equations; and create and use algorithms to explain patterns in factors and multiples of numbers.
To conduct repeated chance experiments, estimate likelihoods and compare equally likely and unequally likely outcomes to solve a problem.
Year 6: To estimate and solve problems involving rational numbers and percentages, identify and explain rules in growing patterns, and create and use algorithms.
To assign probabilities, conduct a chance experiment, run simulations and analyse results to solve a problem.

This week, we saw our 2026 Preps come to school for another session to familiarise themselves with Caboolture State School. Parents joined me in the library to talk about ways to support their child in early literacy and numeracy skills.
We spoke about the importance of our Preps recognising and writing their own name and how we can enhance literacy and numeracy skills by talking with our children.

Planning for 2026 - Supporting Smooth Transitions
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we begin planning for the 2026 school year, we know many students are starting to ask questions, and feel a little nervous about new classes, teachers, and routines. Change can bring both excitement and uncertainty, and it’s perfectly normal for children to experience a mix of emotions during this time.
We are planning for supported transitions that prioritise student wellbeing. We recognise that strong, predictable relationships and emotional safety are key to wellbeing and learning. We’ll continue to help students understand and manage their emotions throughout this process. You can support your child at home by:
Keeping routines predictable - structure helps reduce anxiety and builds a sense of safety.
Normalising mixed emotions - remind them it’s okay to feel nervous or unsure.
Focusing on strengths and past successes - talk about times they’ve managed change well before.
Using emotional language - identifying feelings (e.g. “I can see you’re feeling worried about that”) helps build emotional literacy.
Reading together - books like The Invisible String by Patrice Karst or What to Do When You Worry Too Much by Dawn Huebner can help children understand and talk about anxiety in safe, age-appropriate ways.
- Co regulating when they experience big feelings - Resources like Cosmic Kids Zen Den & Peace Out, Smiling Minds and Pixel Thoughts can support children through anxiety.
Our focus remains on helping every child feel known, supported, and confident as they move into the next stage of their learning journey.

News from the P&C
What a big year it’s been! Unfortunately, we’ve been unable to hold any meetings as we’ve continued to face setback after setback finalising our annual audit. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding while we get this important process completed.
With the funds raised from the tuckshop and events in the last 2 years, we have been able to offer more direct support to the school. We have paid $5000 towards the school's digital sign, supported Chappy to get the Top Blokes program into the school, and purchased graduation gifts for years 6 students. We will be putting funds towards decoding material for the students and will hopefully announce more support soon!
Tuckshop News
The tuckshop has been busier than ever, with a fantastic increase in sales since introducing Flexischools for online ordering. Thank you to everyone whose been using this service – it's made such a difference!
With the rise in orders, we’re really in need of a few extra hands in the kitchen to help keep things running smoothly, even an hour or two would be great. We’d love a few more friendly faces to join the team!
A big welcome to Dan, who has come on board last week.
